George Jose completed his Masters in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, after which he taught Sociology in K.C. College, Mumbai for several years. As Visiting Faculty at various institutions in Mumbai and Bangalore, he has developed and offered courses in communications theory, environment and development, cultural anthropology, film studies and human rights, apart from presenting papers, and contributing articles and book reviews to academic journals and magazines across South and Southeast Asia. From 2000-2005, he was Programme Executive for Arts Education at the India Foundation for the Arts (IFA), Bangalore, an independent, national, grant-making organisation providing sustenance to creativity and research in the arts in India. George serves collaborative arts projects in an advisory capacity, acts in theatre productions, and lives in Thakur Village, Kandivali East.
